Removing large trees and branches:
Not only is it unsafe, but you run the risk of interfering with utility lines, which will cost lots in damages.  Hire a certified arborist who knows what precautions to take and will use a cherry picker or a rope-and-saddle system.  

Power-washing your roof:
Climbing without safety gear and footwear can be a real danger.  Besides, the tools and products to use are specific to the kind of roofing, its age, and what type of dirt you are dealing with.

Installing a ceiling fan:
 If you're unsure how to shut down the power and accurately test the circuit to verify that it's off, farm this out to a licensed electrician, or you could get the shock of your life.
