4 Ways To Prepare Your Home For Open House

When preparing your home for open house, it needs to be as clean as possible.

1.  Depersonalize as much as you can.  Personal, sentimental pics etc. are distracting. Buyer's could spend more time looking at whats in the home than seeing themselves living there.
2.  Don't shove it all in the closet.  If you have clutter, get it out of sight.  Buyers look at closets and storage place for themselves.  They will be looking at all the storage spaces and the more available room they see, the more it will look like your home has all the space they need.
3.  Keep it bright.  Light sells homes.  Freshly clean windows inside and out.  Make sure all light bulbs are working. Open all curtains and shades.  Take down heavy curtains if they block out light.
4.  Make a day of it!  Don't hover around your open house.  Go to the local coffee shop. Take a small day trip.  Then later you can reconnect with your Realtor after he/she has had time to gather up all feedback about your home.
Remember, you may not get an offer on the first day but an open house can lead to future showings and an eventual sale!!  Happy Selling!!
