A New City In Baton Rouge Called Southeast

The Legislature passed a bill in allowing Southeast Baton Rouge to have its own School system but not unless the people in that area voted it in. (They refused to allow them to vote on it with the rest of the state.) But there is interest in the Southeast part of Baton Rouge incorporating into a City if the people can get 25% of the signatures. I'm all for it. Because  government "By the people and For the people" will be the rule again. Moving troubled kids into the Southeast schools from other areas of the city has totally destroyed the system in that area because of all the fights and the lack of discipline in the classrooms. Years ago, Shenandoah Elementary, Parkview Elementary, Southeast Middle, Woodlawn High, Wedgewood Elementary, all those schools were once really good schools without a lot of problems. Government ruined them. Just as the Federal Government has ruined America with politics and power by Congressman doing whatever it takes to get elected (like allowing millions of Mexicans to move in illegally and now can vote (Democratic) without any proof of even being an American citizen. If the Southeast area signs up enough signatures to become Southeast Baton Rouge, at least we can regain some voice in how we want to govern ourselves and protect our kids.
