Looking out at my back yard in Baton Rouge Louisiana feeling blessed with all the beauty!!!

I saw a picture on a recent Facebook post from my sister-in-law who lives up north showing very cold and wet weather. So, as I look out onto my back yard with the roses and begonias in full bloom and agapanthus and lantana looking healthy and ready to bloom I feel so fortunate to live in South Louisiana. Granted, in August many don't feel so blessed when we can't go out to get the newspaper without sweating. But, having many months of the year of beautiful weather to garden, swim, play outdoor sports and enjoy outdoor activities with family and friends outweigh the "dog day afternoons" in August. Baton Rouge and surrounding Parishes "come alive" in early spring with festivals, arts and crafts events, farmers markets, culinary celebrations and music fair. Check out these web sites for times and places, www.visitbatonrouge.com/events/ , www.bestofbatonrouge.com/events/ , www.downtownbatonrouge.org/explore/annual-festivals, www.topeventsusa.com/state-events-louisiana-baton-rouge.html . Discover and enjoy Baton Rouge!!
