Ought To Be A Great College World Series In Omaha For LSU

All the announcers on seemingly every Super Regional game stated that LSU would be hard to beat in the College World Series opening this weekend in Omaha. "Dominate pitching" they said, and they went on to say solid hitting lineup and solid defense. Down here in Baton Rouge, we think Nola should be tough to beat, Eades, after a shaky start, should hold his own, and the bullpen, featuring Chris Cotton, should be effective. But the unusual thing about this year's LSU Baseball Squad has been the seldom used players have had a good account of themselves no matter who comes to the plate.
And Stevenson, Laird, Yocum, and some others have come alive. One of the most overlooked guys on the team has be McMullen. He has been a terrific lead-off man, getting good at-bats almost every game. He makes a pitcher work to get him out. He never swings at a bad pitch. McMullen, Jones, Bregman, Rhymes and Katz are truly Murderers Row and it ought to be a blast watching this team compete in the CWS. It ought to be a good one. Go Tigers!
